This latest episode of the Jheri Curl Chronicles was recorded on August 29th-Michael Jackson's birthday. 1988 was a groundbreaking year for urban music, with hip-hop and R&B going through changes that would shake up both genres. A youth movement, led by artists like Bobby Brown and New Edition and producers like Teddy Riley, blurred the lines between genres.
